Sew Sweet Collection from
Tammy Tutterow! This is my third and final post here on the Spellbinder Blog this month - you can check out my last two posts

HERE. Today I have a pair of colorful and bright cards to share using the collection two different ways - one card uses dies only and no stamps, and the other card uses a stamp only and no dies!
I used Copic makers to make my cards use the same bright color scheme - I die cut all the dies from white cardstock, then colored each piece in with my markers. This allows these two cards to perfectly coordinate!
I love how they each have the same happy and bright feel from the colors - and yet each has it's own uniqueness due to the difference of a single fabulous stamped image colored, or lots of die cut pieces assembled together. I allowed lots of white space on both cards as well - this just adds to the bright and open feel.
For the first card, I used
Sweet Tweets dies for my images, and then
Sew Sweet Sentiments for my word die cuts. Once I die cut all the pieces from white cardstock, I then placed each die cut piece back in the negative piece of cardstock - this held it in place while I colored over it with Copics.
I wanted the sentiment to match in with the rest of the images, so for that I simply blended the same colors over in a rainbow ombre effect. I had so much fun with that part! I also die cut and layered 3 more white layers of the word dies underneath to raise the sentiment up from the cardbase for dimension. I then added a wiggly eye to the bird, and used lots of foam adhesive to adhere all the layers together.
This second card uses identical Copic markers to color in the fabulous
Bobbin Wishes Stamp set. It has been a while since I did much sewing (other than on cards) - but I do remember how terrible it is to have your bobbin run out of thread in the middle of a project!
Once the image was colored, I simply trimmed that panel down slightly and mounted it with foam adhesive on a white card base - just for a bit of dimension and interest on a simple card.
