Birthday Mini Album with Carissa Wiley’s collection It’s My Party with Angela Tombari

Hi crafty friends! It’s Angela Tombari from I Need Confetti blog. Today I would like to share the mini album I created with the fun It’s My Party collection signed by the amazing Carissa Wiley. I will show you how easy it is to create a beautiful memory-keeping project using this collection, It’s My Party, combined with some products from It’s My Party Too collection by Spellbinders.

First thing first, the mini album cover measures 4,75 x 8,75 inches. The pages are 4,25 x 8,25 inches, about the size of a traveler’s notebook, so popular in scrapbooking. So, if you’d like to replicate this project and don’t want to create the mini album yourself, you can use an already-made TN.

The mini I made has a hard cover made of chipboard, covered with white cardstock. I decorated the front with a big pink shaker balloon filled in with colorful sequins. Can you peek at the floating balloons on the background of the shaker? I embossed it with the 3D embossing folder Floating Balloons!

Opening the album, I created an intro page. Here, I used the stencil Balloon Bouquet Designs to create a pinwheels background. To color the pinwheel I used a blending brush and the following Distress Oxides: kitsch flamingo, dried marigold, scattered straw, cracked pistachio.

I cut the colored balloons with the coordinated die and, to give more dimension to the page, I adhered them with foam tape. I finished up with some sequins in coordinated colors because, as Carissa teaches us, sparkling is never enough. Then on top, I placed the phrase It’s Party Time. This is a hot foil plate and I chose to use black glimmer foil to make it pop on the busy background.

The following spread consists of one decorated page and one full-page photo.

On the left, I created a confetti background always using distress oxides and stencil Balloon Garland & Sentiments. In particular, I used only a portion of the stencil, to create two corners of confetti on two corners of the page.

In the center, I positioned the sentiment ‘Today is all about you’, which I hot foiled with rose gold glimmer foil, and on top, a table with the birthday date of the little girl of the photo.

The full page photo is printed in black and white, except for the little girl, I left in her original colors. To create this photo effect, I used an old app that I have on my phone called PicCollage.

Another thing I did with the photo was to print it on card-stock. That’s allowed me to hot foil directly on the photo the sentiment Happy Birthday.

Next spread has approximately the same layout as before, i.e. one decorated page and one page with the photo.

The left page is embossed again with 3D embossing folder Floating Balloons. I love the size of Spellbinders Embossing Folders and recommend them to all scrapbookers as they perfectly accommodate the size of traveler's notebook pages.

On the embossed page, I placed the fun sentiment Hip Hip Hooray. It is hot foiled with bright pink glimmer foil on a  light pink piece of card stock. Using the coordinated die, I cut a second shape in white glitter foam and i adhered it underneath the sentiment, just to give it a little more sparkling.

On both pages, I embellished using some sequins and deflated balloons. The deflated balloons are hot foiled in the same color scheme of the album: mint, pink, orange, and yellow.

I think that this deflated balloon plate has a very clever design. In fact, if you remove or hide the mouthpiece, it can become a lovely foiled leaf!

Next, there is another spread where I used the same ‘Hip hip hooray’ sentiment but in a different color, mint. The whole spread is mainly mint, to match the color of the wall in the photo.

The mint glimmer foil I used comes from the variety pack of satin pastels. You’ll see me using another color from the pack in the following spread.

On top of the photo, I stamped the sentiment ‘Let the celebration Begin’, using black Versamark Ink. This is a stamp from a set called Party Balloon Garland. I love the handwriting of the stamp, it gives a kind of intimate feeling to the project.

From the same stamp set is also the sentiment ‘To my favorite person’ that I stamped inside one of the balloons of the opposite page.

On the right, I embossed the page with the embossing folder Tiny Dots and on top I created a bunch of balloons using Party Balloons Bouquet hot foil stamp and dies.

The balloons have the contour hot foiled with the same satin mint glimmer foil and the inside colored with different tone-on-tone patterns. To do so, I used stencil Balloon Bouquet Designs and to make the bunch of balloons or bouquet of balloons, I simply overlapped two pieces of Party Balloon Bouquet die.

For the last spread, I went again for colorful pages. I combined the two pencils, Balloon Bouquet Designs and Balloon Garland & Sentiments with Oxides. I think it turned out so pretty and joyful!

In the center of the pages, I placed the photos.

On the right page, I added at the top of the photo, the sentiment Eat Cake in bright pink glimmer foil, and on the bottom, the sentiment It’s Party Time, foiled using Citrine glimmer foil.

The right page has a stencil background slightly different from the left one. On the left, I used pinwheels and confetti, while on the right page, I used confetti and the word surprise. On top of the photo I adhered the sentiment Best Day Ever using satin Pink glimmer foil and at the bottom, I decorated with a little bow foiled in mint satin foil.
