3 Autumn Themed Flower Cards for All Occasions + Bonus Scrapbook Layout

Hi there my Spellbinders’ friends, welcome back to the Spellbinders Blog! My name is Jaycee Gaspar and I’m so excited to share three cards and a scrapbook layout featuring the Serenade of Autumn collection. This collection features BetterPress press plates, steel dies, ephemera, and embellishments! I focused on a cohesive color palette that matches the Serenade of Autumn Gems.

I recently crafted some beautiful papercrafts using an enchanting color palette consisting of coral, rose quartz, jade, and aquamarine. By blending inks, I achieved soft tones that perfectly complemented each other, and I also incorporated color complements to create a more muted tone. Although these colors are perfect for autumn themes and palettes, these projects can easily transition into other seasons, making them incredibly versatile. Plus, they pair beautifully with other essentials from the Spellbinders Paper Arts store.

For my first card, I used the large Sunflower Border BetterPress press plate. On a panel of Porcelain Cotton Card Stock, I gradient-inked the rose quartz, coral, aquamarine, and jade colors vertically on the Sunflower Border press plate. I added an array of colored ink splatters from the ink pads I used to fill in the open white spaces of the card stock. To make the sentiment banners, I gold foiled the Fancy Sentiment Strips press plate onto plain white cardstock. Then with the coordinating die, I cut the foiled sentiment strips. I ink-blended soft jewel-toned gradients on top of the sentiment strips. After mounting the sentiment strips to the Sunflower Border panel, I embellished the card with the Serenade of Autumn Gems.

I love layering floral dies, so I couldn’t resist making the Sunflower Serenade my focal point on this shaker card. The aquamarine and gold foiled background comes from the Serenade of Autumn 6X6 Printed Paper. To make the shaker window, I embossed a panel of white cardstock cut to 3.75X5 inches with the Autumn Serenade embossing folder. I fussy cut the circular window from the embossed white panel. Then after adding an acetate sheet to the window, I used the Mirasol Sprinkletz Embellishments as my shaker element to this card. I die-cut the Sunflower Serenade elements from white cardstock and colored the pieces with the same ink I used on the Sunflower Border card. After arranging the Sunflower Serenade bouquet, I layered a die-cut sentiment from Serenade Sentiments in white cardstock and gold metallic cardstock. I finished the card with metallic gold splatters and Serenade of Autumn Gems.

For my last card, I started with a panel of Serenade of Autumn Watercolor Resist Paper. I picked the butterfly background panel and used aquamarine inks to create a center vignette on the butterfly panel.  I love how easily the embossed areas resist heavy applications of ink. I die-cut Autumn Seals Sprigs from white cardstock and used jewel-toned inks to color the die-cut stems. To hold all the sprigs together, I used DMC Gold thread to wrap the panel to the die-cut pieces. I used gold wax and the Sunflower wax seal stamp to create a center embellishment to this bouquet. I embellished this card with gold crystals and left the card without a sentiment.

I can’t resist a good ephemera pack, especially when I can make a full and overflowing scrapbook layout. I started with two pictures of my youngest kittens. I mounted both photos on vellum and Serenade of Autumn Vellum with Foil. I fussy cut two of the papers from Serenade of Autumn 6X6 Printed Paper to make a circular wreath with sunflowers. I filled the background with Serenade of Autumn Die Cut Shapes, Serenade of Autumn Chipboard Stickers, and Serenade of Autumn Butterflies.  I dressed the background with ‘distressed’ elements from the Sunflower Greetings stamp set.  I used the jewel-toned inks to add ink splatters and smooshing to help fill some of the white space and break up the circular structure of this layout. I finished this layout with some short journaling.
