Video: Using Cardstock Scraps and Simple Swipe Embossing
Jessica Frost-Ballas
Good morning! Jess here with a clean and simple video to start your week! Today I'm using some cardstock scraps and a little swipe embossing to create a thank you card that's perfect for fall.
I've also created a video for today's card and you can watch the video below or over at our YouTube channel!
To start I've cut 1/4" and 1/2" strips of Hero Hues cardstocks in Chestnut, Nautical, Plum, Mustard, and Papaya. I've also die-cut the wheat stalks from Autumn Bouquet Fancy Dies and an A2 panel from Sand cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from Happy Autumn Forest onto one of the strips of cardstock with Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat-embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. I arrange the strips and adhere them to the A2 panel. Then I trim off the overhang.
I wanted to give my card a little more sparkle so I do some simple swipe embossing. I take my Embossing & Watermark Ink and lightly brush it across the die-cut stalks. Then I sprinkle it with Gold Glitter Embossing Powder and heat-emboss it. If you get too much powder on the cardstock you can use a clean paintbrush to brush it off. You don't need a lot of powder to give it some sparkle! I also die-cut the bow from Autumn Bouquet Fancy Dies, pressed my Embossing & Watermark Ink pad over the die-cut and then heat-embossed it with Gold Glitter Embossing Powder. Finally I adhered the die-cuts to the panel with Liquid Precision Glue to finish the card!
Thanks so much for visiting today and I hope you have a fantastic week!
