Video: Paper Layering Lotus Card with Watercolor Wash Background
It's been six months since I actually started enjoying watercoloring. I used to feel intimated by using watercolors on my projects for the last few years.
So today I decided to share some quick and easy techniques for some of you who want to try watercoloring but don't know where to start.
I used the watercolor wash technique to highlight the "clean and simple" lotus flower. Doesn't it look like floating in the water?
The lotus is supposed to be attached on the paper, but I cut out the whole design with scissors to get more out of Paper Layering Large Lotus Die. If you watch my video below, you will understand what I mean.
Watercolor wash technique is a great way to create your own background within a few minutes. Depending the amount of water you add to your paint, you can achieve various looks.
If you wet down your watercolor paper before you bring in the color, you will be able to blend the color easily. However, I didn't wet my paper for today's card so I can create kind of bold watercolor stripes.
I made a video tutorial showing you how I created my card from start to finish. If you are having a problem viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.

That’s all for today. Hope you loved my card and got some inspiration to make your own watercolor card using Paper Layering dies.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
