Video: Lush Jungle Card with the August Card Kit of the Month
Hello friends!! It's Channin here and today I'm creating a rich jungle scene with the Hero Studio August Card Kit of the Month. In the video I demonstrate how to use the included Jungle Scenics Stencil to create a lush leafy background as well as walk you through how I create gradations with layering stamps to add even more depth and dimension to my images.
Check out the video below to see how I create this card from start to finish.
(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)
To create this card I first stamped the foreground canopy of leaves with the Jungle HeroScape stamp set included in the August Card Kit of the Month. I started by stamping the base layer for the canopy in Key Lime Fizz Reactive Ink (included in kit). I then partially inked up the same stamp in Green Apple Reactive Ink
I then stamped the birds by first stamping the base layer for the birds in Creamsicle ink. I then partially inked up the same stamps in Fruit Punch and stamped again. Next, I stamped the detail layer for the birds in Intens-ified Black Ink. I then die cut the images out and set them aside.
Next, using the negative leaf side of the Jungle Scenics Stencil (included in kit) I ink blended a background in Key Lime Fizz and Green Apple inks. I started at the bottom of an A2 top-folding Dove White card base then ink-blended along the stencil's edge. When finished, I then slid the stencil up about 3/4 of an inch and blended again. I repeated this till the entire card front was covered.
Next, I ink-blended several vines with the Jungle Scenics Stencil in Green Apple, Blue Raspberry and Nautical inks. I then die cut an A2 panel of Dove White cardstock with a rectangle die from the Nesting Rectangles Infinity Dies to create a frame. Next, I stamped a sentiment from the Jungle HeroScape stamp set in Intens-ified Black Ink. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the frame and stamped images to the card front with foam adhesive.
I hope you enjoyed my card and video. Thank you so much for stopping by!
