Video: Interactive Slider Cards
Hey there! Clare popping in today, with a pair of fun interactive birthday cards and a video.
So, I super duper love the Snarky Mix & Match Messages stamp set, but there's one problem - there's too many funny sentiments! I know, best kind of problem to have. ;) I found a solution though, where you can use as many as you want - an interactive slider card, that displays multiple sentiments.
You can watch the video below or in HD.
The first thing I did was stamp the bold birthday sentiment in black, and then die-cut a slot for the sentiments below, using the flag die from the Thank You Messages. By itself, the flag die isn't actually long enough for the sentiments, so I actually die cut it twice, side-by-side.
Then I die-cut one of the pretty Sunburst dies on the top and bottom of the sentiment, and die-cut the entire panel with a Rectangle Infinity die. I then die-cut a little tab opening in the bottom with a Circle Infinity die.
I then blended a background of Dandelion, Soft Apricot and Fresh Peach on Radiant White cardstock, heat set it, and stamped my selection of sentiments in black. After trimming down the panel (see how in video), I temporarily adhered the blended panel behind the die-cut panel with a piece of washi tape.
Then I added foam adhesive around the panel, leaving room on the top and the bottom for the panel to be able to slide up and down. I adhered the panel down to a kraft card base, and topped it off with some adorable flowers (from Flowers for Coloring), stamped on Radiant White cardstock in black and die-cut.
If you wanted a more neutral, masculine card, just leave off the flowers, like I did with this sample.
For this card, I blended a background using Soft Pool, Pool and Deep Ocean.
For both cards, I also stamped a little triangle, from Happy Stamp & Cut, on the bottom of the tab, so the recipient would be clued into the interactive option. ;)
I love this way of adding a little more interest and interactivity to the cards, while also getting to use more of those hilarious little accompanying sentiments from Snarky Mix & Match Messages.
Thanks so much for stopping in and have a great day! God bless!

Hey Gail! I got my roll of tape from Amazon – here’s a link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PSB7BI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Not sure if it’s available in Canada, but I hope that helps! :)

Cute card and you made it look easy. Was surprised that you had never made one as you were “smooth”. Thanks for the input. I may try one now. Getting ready for a show so would like many different kinds of cards to sell.

Very sweet. Thanks for talking/writing about the Sunburst die. It is nicely subtle and reading the description helps me see the design. Very novel and quirky.
