VIDEO: Halloween Layers & Frames

Jeannie Lieu

Hi crafty friends! It's Jeannie and today, I'm excited to share a new video with you featuring the August Hero Studio Die Set of the Month. We've hit spooky season and this set makes it easy to create a fun and spooky card!

To create this card, I first wanted to create my background, a simple, heat embossed card panel. I used the Cling Stamp of the Month, stamping it with the Hero Arts Embossing & Watermark Ink, and used the White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder for a pretty but subtle look on Pitch Black Cardstock

Next, I die cut the all the frames from the Die Set of the Month from a bunch of different colored cardstock: Palm, Papaya, Mustard, and Plum. Obviously, I stuck with a Halloween color palette. I also die cut the backing of the frames using Pitch Black Cardstock in keeping with my background card panel.

This card is pretty easy and I think the hardest part is deciding on the arrangement of the frames. Once I made my final decision, I used Precision Glue to attach the frames to the backing, and then adhered the frames to my background panel.

My last step was to die cut the various items in this Die Set of the Month to fit into the frames. I decided to use matching colors for the frame and the icon image to keep the background from getting too busy.

For the sentiment, I used one from the Card Kit of the Month, heat embossing it onto Pitch Black Cardstock, but altering it a bit so the sentiment would be stacked and would fit into the frame.

Thank you for joining me here today and I hope you enjoyed this card and the accompanying video.
