Video: Easy Two For One Watercolor Sky
Hello crafters! It's Kelly Taylor here and I have a super easy two for one technique to share with you today. I don't know about you but when it comes to making multiples I appreciate anything that saves me some time.
(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)
These cards showcase our Winter Scenics Bundle. The beautiful solid images let the sky really shine! I used Luxe White Watercolor Paper along with Deep Ocean, Indigo, Dark Teal, and Mulled Wine Liquid Watercolors to create this gorgeous night sky. I also added in some spatters of both the Pewter Metallic Glimmer Metallic Ink and White Iridescent Shimmer Mist to create stars, but It actually ended looking more like snow thanks to the addition of our White Detail Embossing Powder.
You wouldn't think the multistamping of the images in two colors would make such a big difference but I just love it. It's such an easy way to add more dimension to our solid images. The deer were stamping on Dove White cardstock first in Espresso and then in Pitch Black. The town was stamped in Nautical and again the shading was added with Pitch Black.
I created my second card the same way except this time I swapped out my base color. I started with Pine ink but ended up going with Forever Green because I thought it matched better. Don't be afraid to switch it up! This technique is very forgiving. I heat embossed each sentiment after making sure my panels were completely dry. Our Unicorn Pigment Ink and White Detail Embossing Powder made sure it was bright white.
I added a bit of shading to my snow with Passion Flower ink and a Large Blending Brush before adhering them flat to my watercolor piece to finish off the card. I just love how these came out, how about you?!
Thanks so much for joining me today!
