Video: City Lights & Starry Nights Card Featuring the June Card Kit of the Month
Hello friends!! It’s Channin here and today I’m creating a fun city scene card featuring several products included in the new Hero Studio June Card Kit of the Month. In the video I share a bunch of helpful cardmaking tips from how to get smooth gradations with the multi-inking stamping technique to how to get thin delicate stamps to perfectly align with their coordinating dies.
Watch below or on the Hero Arts YouTube channel.
To create this card I first stamped an A2 panel (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") of Dove White cardstock with the base layer for the sky from the Urban Sky HeroScape Set in Dusty Blue, Stonewash, Nautical and Pitch Black Core Inks. Start by inking up the entire stamp in Dusty Blue ink and stamping it several times to increase the intensity of color. Next, ink up the upper half of the stamp in Stonewash and then take an ink blending brush and tap over the last inch of where you stopped inking to soften and create a smooth gradation. Stamp and repeat with the other listed ink colors.
Next, position the cloud layer from the Urban Sky HeroScape, ink up the entire stamp in Peony and stamp. Then ink up the upper half of the stamp with Amethyst by loading an ink blending brush with the ink and applying it to the stamp and then stamp. Next, ink blend the largest city section of the City Stencil in with Charcoal ink. Then, with the stencil still in place, pop in the fall-out city section into the stencil and apply Dandelion colorized White Pearl Hero Paste over.
Once the paste is dry, place the fall-out city stencil back over the buildings and then lightly ink blend the sky with Peony and Amethyst. Then press Unicorn Pigment Ink out onto a slick surface, spritz with water, mix and splatter the upper quart of the panel with the watered-down ink. Next, die cut the power line pole and sitting birds images out of Dove White cardstock. Place the diecuts and negatives into a stamp positioning tool stamp and then stamp them with the coordinating images in black ink.
Next, stamp a sentiment from the Neighborhood Messages Stamp Set in Unicorn Pigment Ink onto Pitch Black cardstock. Pour white embossing powder over, heat set with heat tool and fussy cut the sentiment out. Then die cut an A2 panel of Dove White cardstock with a rectangle die from the Nesting Rectangles Infinity Die Set to create a frame. Next, adhere the panel to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base. Lastly, finish the card by adhering the frame and sentiment to the card front with foam adhesive.
I hope you enjoyed my card. Thank you so much for stopping by!
This is a fantastic card. Thank you for the video. I ordered this and think it will make great cards for those those who live away from me.
