Using Dies to Create a Focal Point for a Stamped Image

Hello there, Michelle here and today I am sharing a card using the new Love Birds Stamp & Cut that was released as an add-on for the January My Monthly Hero kit. It is a lovely set that can be used for Valentine's Day but also cards throughout the year.

I started off by stamping the two birds and the branch on to white cardstock using Intense Black Ink. I coloured the images using Copic Markers and fussy cut them out with scissors. There are dies in the set but I wanted to intertwine the branch with their claws so I chose to fussy cut them. These were then set aside while I worked on the card base.

I took a panel of white cardstock (5.5" x 4") and placed two hearts from the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies on to the piece. I then ran this through my die cutting machine with an embossing mat. This gives a nice impression in to the cardstock, without adding extra layers and brings the eye to the area. The panel was added to an A2 black card base with tape runner. I then added the branch and birds on top with foam tape.

I took the sentiment from the set and stamped this with Versamark Ink on to a strip of black cardstock. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. The strip was then added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added crystal glaze to the bird's beaks.

Thanks so much for popping by today, happy stamping!
