Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #2

Mar 27, 2020 Hero Arts

Hi friends! We're back with another challenge. Has this ever happened to you? You see a new stamp set. You absolutely LOVE it and rush to purchase it. But then, somehow, it goes into your stash and never sees the light of day again!? Surely I'm not the only one who has done this? This week we are encouraging you to dive into your supplies and actually *use* those products! We're calling this challenge Never-Seen-Ink! But, it is not limited to only stamps - if there is a die that has been sitting, neglected, in your craft supplies, bust that out and use it, too!

Keep scrolling for more information about entering our challenge. But first, Kelly is using her never-seen-ink stamps, and sharing a card that would be perfect to pop in the mail today to loved one that you you might be missing a little extra these days.

Hi, friends! I love the theme of this challenge, because I am definitely guilty of having a few stamps that have not seen any love. I honestly can't believe I have never used the stamp set I'm using today because it is one that I was drawn to right when I saw it. The Sacred Florals stamp set has beautiful detailed images that I couldn't wait to heat emboss and watercolor.

After white heat embossing the main image I used Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors in Jungle Mist and Mulled Wine to color the image. Then I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the image.

When searching for another element to pair with this stamp set, I came across another never-been-used product, the Gems Confetti Fancy Die, and I don't think there could be a more perfect companion. The geometric shapes perfectly complement the shapes of the stamp and I think they are a match made in heaven. ;)

And speaking of a match made in heaven, the Jungle Mist and Mulled Wine Liquid Watercolors are great matches to Adriatic and Plum cardstocks.

I added some white gel pen details and gems to finish off the card. I love the rich colors of this card and how well all the products worked together.

Now it's your turn - we'd absolutely love for you to join us! We want to encourage you to actually sit down and enjoy the process of creating. We know it is a source of fun, relaxation and stress relief - something we all can use a bit more of right now. Create a new card for this challenge with the theme of NEVER-SEEN-INK. Use the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post to link up your card, and you will be entered into our drawing. We will be giving a $35 gift certificate randomly to one person who plays along! To link up your project, you need to share it publicly somewhere that you can grab the link - this can be your blog, Instagram, a Flickr account - anything that allows you to have a URL or website location to link up.

We, of course, encourage you to use your favorite Hero Arts products. But any and all entries are eligible for consideration. We really care most about you bringing a little inky joy into your life. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, April 1 at 11:59pm PT to be eligible for the giveaway, and the winner will be announced when we announce our next challenge next Friday. Scroll down below the product thumbnails to find the linkup!

And if you share your project on social media, we'd love if you'd use the #staycraftywithhero hashtag.

This past week we've loved seeing your entries from our first challenge - Encouragement Cards! We're thrilled so many of you took the time to sit down, create and play along. Our winner is Ana Anderson, who made this incredibly gorgeous card using our December My Monthly Hero kit.

Congratulations Ana! Email us at info@heroart.com with "Stay Crafty Challenge Winner" in the subject to claim your prize.

Here's to connection, creativity, inspiration, and kindness. ❤

This is such a fun challenge. I sadly have tons of neglected stamps and dies that I LOVE!!! This helps motivate me to liberate them!!! Another fun challenge would be use your oldest stamp/die. I think I could go back to 1984 or 1985!!! Plus I have loads from the 90’s!!! Stay well and have a beautiful day <3
