Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #10
Hi everyone! It's time to kick off another challenge! Can you believe this is our 10th Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge already? For this week's challenge we'd like you to Build A Scene! Combine images to create whatever type of scene you're inspired to pull together. Can you get really creative and combine several stamp sets or dies? We can't wait to see what you create! We'll include all of the challenge details further down this post, but first, here's some inspiration from Daniel!
Hey there! Daniel here with my take on the Stay Crafty Challenge #10 -- Scene Building. Last year with the holidays approaching, Hero Arts released the Television Fancy Die set with a funky mid-century modern feel. I have waited and waited to use this die for a card! This being shut in for weeks has many of us staring at screens longing for the sunny days. So I brought out my TV and built a scene within a scene.
Tami, from Hero Arts, wanted to know how many sets I could include in my card!! Let us count:
- Television Fancy Die
- Beach HeroScape
- Beach HeroScape Dies
- Arch Pattern Bold Prints
- Pop Art Fancy Dies
Below I have created a list of the supplies I used beyond stamps and dies.
- Hero Arts Precision Glue
- Hero Arts Aquatic Ink
- Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink
- Hero Arts Intens-ified Black Ink
- Chestnut Cardstock
- Pebble Cardstock
- Mist Cardstock
- Dove White Cardstock
- Rich Copper Cardstock (from the September 2019 MMH kit)
- Karin Decobrush in Metallic Blue
- Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder
- Hero Arts Clear Embossing Ink
- Adhesive foam square
- Tombow Mono Drawing Pen 0.3 (from the April 2019 MMH kit)
- White Gel Pen
To begin, I die cut the television three times and stacked the pieces up for dimension. Next, using the E29 (not pictured) Copic marker, I added some details to the front. Then, I colored in the knobs with the Karin Decobrush Metallic marker to add some shine.
The television creates part of the broader scene on the card. For a wallpaper background, I stamped out the Arch Pattern Bold Print stamp with Clear Embossing Ink and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Next, I took an inch and a half off the bottom of my A2-sized panel. Then, I cut a strip of the Rich Copper Cardstock from the September 2019 kit and adhered them both to the front of a top-folding Dove White Cardstock Base, leaving an inch of white on the bottom. Next, I die cut a piece of Pebble Cardstock using the long thin die from the Pop Art Fancy Dies Set. I could have just cut thin strips, but I like the finished look the die gives for the antennae on the top of the TV. I adhered them to the back of the TV and then glued it all to the front of the card base.
Next, I created a mini beach scene for the television screen, using the Beach HeroScape and Dies. I stamped the first layer of water in Tide Pool, then added a the second layer using Aquatic ink. After that, I stamped the lounging lady with umbrella onto some Pebble cardstock with Clear Embossing Ink. Then, I added an outline to her and the umbrella with a Mono Drawing Pen that came in the April 2019 kit. I colored the image in a bit with blue green and warm gray Copics, the Karin marker and a white gel pen. Next, I used the Television Die to cut out the water and sand to fit inside the screen area of the die. Then, I adhered the water to the front of the Pebble cardstock and added some details to the sand with brown Copic markers and a white gel pen. To finish off the mini scene, I adhered the scene into the Television with Hero Arts Precision Glue.
To finish off my project, I stamped "Wishing You" onto some Mist Cardstock with Intens-ified Black Ink. Then, I fussy cut it out and popped it up on the front of my Television scene a bit to the right. On the inside of the card, I stamped "Sunny Days" with Intens-ified Black Ink!
What other mini scenes do you think would work well with this Television Fancy Die? How about for the wallpaper? Or do you have another scene project entirely in your thoughts?

What a gorgeous beach scene!!! LOVE the colors.
Thank you for this challenge. Building a scene is not my usual thing, so this was a bit out of my comfort zone. Hope my card qualifies!
