Sparkly Colored Heat-Embossing
Good morning! Jess here with a sparkly way to add some color to your heat-embossing!
I just love the new Birch Forest Background Cling for a frosty winter card! And I really love that the actual stamp is of the sky and the outline of the trees, not the trees themselves. So to start I placed the stamp on the lid of my MISTI so I'd be able to stamp a few times and still get a crisp image. I started by inking the bottom of the stamp with Cornflower ink and stamped it onto an A2 panel of Hero Hues Dove White cardstock. Next I cleaned off my stamp and then inked the middle with Navy ink and stamped again. Finally I cleaned off the stamp and inked the top with Intens-ified Black ink and stamped again. At this point I had the three ombre colors of my winter sky.
After carefully cleaning my stamp (this cleaner is the best for getting ink off stamps!) I reinked the entire stamp with the new Clear Embossing and Watermark ink and stamped over my ombre sky. And while the embossing ink was still wet I heat-embossed it it with Sparkle Embossing Powder. I love how it looks like you used a colored embossing powder and you could easily substitute this technique with any shade of ink to suit your projects!
Next I stamped the sentiment from Winter Forest Animals onto Hero Hues Cherry cardstock and heat-embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I stamped the cardinal from Winter Forest Animals onto Hero Hues Dove White cardstock with Versafine and heat-embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. I colored him with Copic markers before fussy-cutting him. I also trimmed my sentiment down to a thin label. To finish my card I adhered the panel to a card base of Hero Hues Nautical cardstock and added my sentiment and cardinal with foam mounting tape. I just love the pops of red amongst all that frosty blue and white and I hope you do, too!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!
