September My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway!

Sep 01, 2017 Jayne Nelson

Hello, we are back with another Countdown to Creativity post before launching our September My Monthly Hero Kit and add-ons on Tuesday, September 5th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We'll be giving away one kit on Tuesday morning, before the kit launches, so be sure to comment on every Countdown post! Now, join Jayne as she shares a pumpkin card using some of the stamps from this month's kit and an optional, add-on background stamp.

If you love everything fall, especially warm yellow sunflowers and orange pumpkins, then I think that you will adore the September My Monthly Hero Kit! This month's kit includes not only a large stamp set with images to create a beautiful, color-layered sunflower and several color-layered pumpkins, but it also includes matching dies and script sentiment stamps that can be paired with the images to create all kinds of autumn themed cards.

To make this card, I started by creating a standard, A2 celadon card base. Then, I trimmed a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than the card and secured it to the card front, aligning the lower left corners. On a smaller piece of kraft paper, I embossed the wonderful, new add-on Vine Pattern Bold Prints (CG721) background stamp with Sparkle embossing powder. Similarly, I aligned the lower left corners and secured this panel to the card. Next, I embossed a sentiment from this month's kit onto a strip of pine layering paper and added it to the card above the vine patterned panel.

Next, on pieces of white cardstock, I used stamps from this month's kit to stamp three color-layered pumpkins with Neon Orange, Tangerine, and Just Rust inks. I also stamped three stems with Caramel and Cocoa inks. And finally, I stamped three leaves with vines using Moss and Forever Green inks. I used the matching dies to easily cut around all of the images. Then, I simply layered the die cut images and secured them to the card, trimming one pumpkin that extended beyond the card's edge. For a little shine, I also added a trio of brown gems. So, now I'm ready for fall - how about you?
