September 2019 My Monthly Hero is Here + Giveaway!

We've opened a "cabinet of curiosities" this month, drawing inspiration from objects of wonder.

With this release we certainly see crafting in your future! Perfect for Autumn and Halloween, this month's kit builds on our popular "peek-a-boo" line of stamps and dies. You'll stamp your own cabinet, full of interesting objects and fun secret messages. Use the other items in the kit to finish your cards, including a gorgeous Bronze Silk liquid ink, tiny bee and key charms, and an assortment of beautiful papers.

This month’s kit includes:

  • 6" x 8" Clear Stamp Set
  • 1 Peek-a-boo Drawers Fancy Die
  • 3 Additional Fancy Dies
  • Bronze Silk Ink 0.5 fl. oz.
  • 10 Bee & Key Charms
  • 6 5.5" x 8.5" Sheets of Decorative Paper (Rich Copper, Urban Basilia Black, Wood Abachi Solid)

This kit is valued at $76, but is an incredible deal at $34.99. It is available in limited quantities – grab yours before they are gone!

In addition to the September My Monthly Hero kit, there are several optional products in this month's collection that coordinate with the theme! Want to see the products in action? When you visit any of these products in our store, you will see beautiful card ideas and inspiration.

First, let's take a look at the newest addition to our Color Layering family of products - Color Layering Moth and coordinating Color Layering Moth Frame Cuts. So many beautiful possibilities with this one!

Sacred Florals takes an interesting spin on floral images. There are matching Sacred Florals Frame Cuts, too. From luck to sympathy to simply a friendly greeting, this one has you covered.

It's certainly a promising future if there is crafting involved! How fun is this new I See Crafting stamp set and matching dies?

Our new Autumn Wreath and Autumn Wreath Frame Cuts takes a gorgeous turn toward Thanksgiving and fall. (Editor's note: that little mushroom is the cutest!)

Looking for more items to put in your cabinet of curiosities? Look no further than Pure Magic! Use these sweet little bottles with the September kit or all on their own, for a magical take on Halloween. We know we'd love to get our hands on a bottle of "creative juices"!

Now let's take a look at the standalone dies in this month's release. There are so many great options! We love the creepy possibilities with this Spider Web Window Fancy Die.

How many of you love to collect seashells? They are a popular curiosity on many a shelf. With Nautilus Fancy Die with Frame you can add them to your handmade projects, too.

Another beauty from this release is Cabinet Door Fancy Die. Choose from a variety of tiny hinges to embellish your door, and don't forget the door knocker!

There are so many possibilities with this gorgeous new set of Curiosities Silhouette Fancy Dies! Make a creepy collage with the bugs and skull, perfect for Halloween, an autumn-inspired display with the leaves, branches and acorn, or a beautiful year-round assortment of florals with the moth. Combine them however you wish, or use them individually. The only limit is your imagination! (And by the way - the spider die also works well with the Spider Web Window die above!)

And last but certainly not least, a gorgeous new red rubber cling stamp - Bug Collection Bold Prints. This 6" x 6" design does not pair with any of the peek-a-boo dies, but it creates a beautiful background, or focal point, for your handmade projects!

Love all of these fabulous new add-ons? You can Get Them All in a bundle for roughly a 10% savings, while supplies last.

Now let's take a look at a project Nichol created with this month's kit!

Hello friends! I'm a huge fan of the Peek-A-Boo Fancy Dies and if you are, too, you're going to love the incredible September My Monthly Hero kit! Whether you use the stamp images with the die or not, you're going to love creating with this amazing kit!

This interactive autumn blessings "library/apothecary" cabinet card is so much fun. All the stamps and dies for this card come from the My Monthly Hero September Kit

The frame image from the main kit was stamped on smooth white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I then used the coordinating die to die cut the peek-a-boo windows.

I placed the die cut panel in a MISTI and then stamped all the handles, labels, key hole images, etc. on all but one window using Intense Black Ink

Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso Distress Inks were applied over the entire panel, keeping the middle of the design slightly lighter than the edges. Copic Markers in the following colors were used to color in the labels, handles, and frame of the design right over the Distress Inking. Frame: E47, Handles/Label Frame: W7, W9, Inside of Labels: R37, R39

On the remaining window, I stamped the phrase, "Autumn Blessings" with the Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder.

Using the die as a stencil/guide, I stamped images and sentiments from the My Monthly Hero Kit inside each of the openings. The pumpkin was stamped with Just Rust Ink and shaded with YR27 and E47 Copic Markers. The heart was stamped with Red Royal Ink and shaded with R37 and R39 Copic Markers. The pear was stamped with Moss Ink and shaded with YG95, YG97, and E47 Copic Markers. The rest of the images were colored with the following Copic Markers: BG0000, BG01, YR14, YR24, YR27, R37, R39, YG95, YG97, E55, E47, W7, W9

The frame panel was adhered over the images with foam adhesive to make opening the flaps a bit easier.

I hope this has inspired you to create fun, interactive designs with the September My Monthly Hero Kit and Add-Ons!

And finally, as we launch this kit, our hearts are heavy with the news out of the Bahamas, and our thoughts are with the East Coast of the United States as we all hope and pray the hurricane stays out to sea. For each September kit sold, $1 will be donated to help those impacted by the devastation and displacement caused by Hurricane Dorian.

I love this treasure of a kit!

  • Lindar C

It was love at first “peek” for this kit! I loved seeing all the amazing cards on this hop.

I’m starting to rethink my monthly membership to the MMH boxes. This looks like a repeat of a previous kit that also has windows. The kit would have been more interesting if the bottles stamp was included in the kit.
