September My Monthly Hero is Here! + a Giveaway!

We are excited to bring you the launch of our September My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons! We are in the mood for Fall and the Creative Team has enjoyed playing with these products. At the end of the post you will find links to a blog hop that will give you lots of ideas for using this month's kit and add-ons.

The September My Monthly Hero kit takes you to the cooler days of autumn, when the colors are changing and the pumpkins are plentiful! Our kit contains a 6x8 clear stamp set featuring two distinct color layering projects: a painterly treatment of both sunflowers and pumpkins, combined with the perfect sentiments. Coordinating dies will cut out your fall creations, and a set of five ink cubes in autumnal colors (Butter Bar, Cup O' Joe, Orange Soda, Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine), are designed to work well with the layering stamps. To round out the kit we've included coordinating papers and brass charms.

Here are the contents of this month's kit:

1 6" x 8" Color Layering clear stamp set
8 Coordinating Frame Cuts dies
5 Ink cubes (Butter Bar, Cup O’ Joe, Orange Soda, Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine)

Is your mind spinning with creative ideas? Well, here are some more ideas from our talented Creative Team member, Jayne Nelson:

Jayne: I was having so much fun stamping the beautiful sunflowers in this month's kit that before I knew it, I had stamped enough flowers for two cards. For each of the cards, I started by loosely watercoloring a trimmed panel of watercolor paper. While the paint was drying, I embossed one of the seasonal sentiments from this month's kit onto two strips of vellum. When the paint dried, I wrapped the sentiment strips around the watercolor panels and then machine-stitched along the upper and lower edges of each piece. I used Cerulean and Poppy layering paper to mat the panels and to create card bases.

Next, I stamped four sunflower blooms with Dandelion, Butter Bar and Soft Brown inks for the petals and Soft Brown and Cup O' Joe inks for the flower centers, carefully aligning each stamp layer. I also stamped two leafy stems with Soft Olive and Forever Green inks. After quickly cutting around these images with the kit's matching dies, I cut two of the flowers into two halves and then secured each half along each card's left and right edges. Next, I added a stem and a foam-mounted sunflower to each card. I finished the cards by adding three blue gems, twine bows around the folded edges, and one of the pretty sunflower charms, included in this month's kit, over each bow.

Thanks Jayne!
