Sea You Soon...
Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing a blissful mermaid card using our new Mermaid Stamp & Cut that was just released a few weeks ago! Mermaids are so, so popular right now, and no wonder... who doesn't want to be a mermaid, at least for a little while, amirite?
For my project today, I started by heat embossing the mermaid, turtle, and sea horse from the Mermaid Stamp & Cut onto some watercolor paper with silver embossing powder. I watercolored them all with Daniel Smith watercolors, then die cut them (and fussy cut the little sea horse).
For the background, I used the Handmade Watercolor Paper from Hero Arts to do some wet-on-wet watercolor for a seaworthy backdrop for my mermaid. I used the new Indigo, Deep Ocean, and Pine Liquid Watercolors to create a pretty background by thoroughly wetting the paper with clean, clear water, then adding drops of color and spreading them with my very wet paintbrush until I had achieved the look I was after. I also die cut the Reef Border and Frame Fancy Die from some Pool Layering Paper.
I used dimensional adhesive to add my reef frame to the watercolored backdrop, then added the mermaid, turtle, and sea horse using dimensional adhesive, as well. I heat embossed the greeting from Mermaid Stamp & Cut again using Silver embossing powder onto a strip of white card stock that I flagged at the ends.
The final touch was a few turquoise sequins from the Ombré Ocean Sequins pack to add some pretty sparkle.
Well, that's all for me today! Have a marvelous day!
Super cool in blue :)
So pretty! Love the colors you used with the DS watercolors!
