Mixing Die Cuts: Peeking Bear Holiday Card
Hello crafty friends! This is Mindy with you today and I am sharing inspiration with the new Peeking Bear Cub Fancy Die. This cute little guy could be peeking out from around so many different items or even the edge of your card. I have the Candy Cane Fancy Die that I thought would be adorable for him to be holding. The thing was, when I die cut the candy cane, it was facing the wrong direction for what I wanted.
So...I die cut the Candy Cane from Deluxe Smooth White and Cherry cardstock and flipped it! Thankfully everything was symmetrical so it all lined up.
My bear is die cut from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock and then I lightly ink blended him with Fawn and Cup O Joe ink using a blending brush. To make his eyes stand out, I colored them in with a black gel pen. Then I attached him to the candy cane using Precision Glue.
I added my bear to a white mat cut with a Rectangle Infinity Die and added it to a panel of Meadow cardstock cut with the Infinity Postage Stamps Infinity Dies. After layering these together, it started to look like a present to me so I added a bow at the top using the Holly & Berries Stamp & Cut XL and gold glitter cardstock.
I wanted to tie in more of the red from the candy cane, so I used a piece of Cherry cardstock, first stamping the Jingle Bells Script Bold Prints in Cranberry ink.
Then I could foam mount my postage stamps panel & peeking bear.
I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Color Layering Seasonal Tree stamped in Pitch Black ink and cut out with the coordinating die. I foam mounted the sentiment to the front of the card as well.
Who would have thought you could take a postage stamp die set and turn it into a present?? Kind of fun!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed today's inspiration!

What a cute card and a clever idea to use that bear with a candy cane. The blending you did helped bring that bear to life. I like the addition of the bow to turn your background into a present. Thanks for the inspiration!
