Patterned Animals - Simple and Colorful!
Hey there friends! Daniel here with a super easy card featuring the Patterned Animals stamp set. This set released as an add-on to the April 2020 My Monthly Hero! It includes a koala, a fish, a kangaroo and a crocodile, as well as fun sentiments and small stamps for embellishment.
I enjoy stamping an image down on paper so much, I became a notary, just to get the stamp! So when it comes to making a card, of all the techniques I've learned over the last two years, I prefer just laying ink down with a single color. Simple stamping, I call it, fascinates me. Don't get me wrong. I love difficult techniques and paper crafting hijinks. But give me an acrylic block and a new ink pad, and I'll smile a while.
When I saw the koalas in this set, I immediately thought of the bears from Grateful Dead. So I lined them up on some Dove White Cardstock, stamping the bear image in the inks from the Floral Hues Dye Cubes. I used some Post-it tape to mask off a section along the bottom third of the panel. I started stamping with Ultra Pink, then moved up with Raspberry Jam and finally Grape Juice.
Next, I peeled up the tape and stamped the sentiment in the blank space. Finally, I stamped a small round stamped in between the koalas with first, second and third generation Intens-ified Black Ink. I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5.25" and popped it up on the front of a Dove White Top Folded card base.
Thank you for stopping in today. I'd love to hear about your absolute favorite stamping technique. What do you find brings you joy when stamping? Let me know in the comments below. Have a super day and stay safe!
