Our Mixed Media Catalog is Here!! Blog Hop + Giveaway
Mixed media is a creative blend of materials, colors, and techniques. It can be collage, dimensional cardmaking, journaling, and so much more. Most of all, mixed media offers variety and play. With Hero Arts stamps, inks, pastes, embossing powders, sprays, papers, dies, and tools, creating mixed media projects is fun and easy. Don't be afraid to color outside the lines!
Our 2022 Mixed Media Catalog is an invitation to look at our supplies in a new way. We are introducing several fabulous new products today, but in this catalog, our Creative Team also jumped into their craft rooms with a new outlook - figuring out ways to stretch themselves creatively, and have fun playing!
The new products are linked at the bottom of the post, and you can flip page by page through our beautiful catalog below:
The products are also available in a collection on our website. We'll end the post with a blog hop, but before we do, let's take a look at a few beautiful projects created by Jayne Nelson. With this release, we invited our team to make a card, then use the same supplies for a mixed media project other than a card. The results were phenomenal!
For my first two projects, I’m featuring the versatile, new Months and Days stamp set to create a card and a frame. I started by layering assorted Nature and Sea Palette Reactive Inks onto Luxe Watercolor paper and then sprinkling them with water. Once dried, I randomly stamped across each background with stamps from the Months and Days set. I also stamped sentiments from the Dream Messages set with black ink.
Next, using circle stencils I made with the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies, I used acrylic paint to add white circles to cardstock pieces and the watercolored backgrounds. I stamped and die cut a collection of winged insects with the From The Vault Bugs stamp set, paired them with embossed sentiment strips, and then secured them to the card and the frame.
For my next two projects, a card and a wooden sign, I started by clear embossing the Luggage Tag Alphabet set onto watercolor paper. Then, I layered watercolors created with assorted Reactive Inks and water onto the embossed paper.
I painted pieces of white cardstock with pink and yellow acrylic paints, stamped them with the Circle Pattern Bold Prints background, and then die cut them with the Hello There Stamp & Cut die and the 5-Point Stars Infinity Dies. After securing the painted pieces to each project, I added Dream Messages sentiments and smaller images from the You Sparkle Bundle.
Now let's take a look at what our team has created! Be sure to leave comments along the way – every comment is an entry into our giveaway! Comment by Sunday, May 22, 2022 to enter. Such fun things in the new catalog! I want to check out the wax, paste and scrubber block.
Such amazing products. Hero Arts is quickly becoming my favourite company.
Great release. Love the Tiling Textures.
LOVE your projects, Jayne! I was super inspired by your “Dream Messages” projects, and I am totally kicking myself that I didn’t look for that stamp set when Joann recently had Hero Arts stamps on sale (I did get a couple of my other favorite sets, though, and am loving them).
Mixed media is SO TOTALLY my thing. I used to sell my collages and other mixed media art projects back in 2005-2009 (before the “Great Financial Crisis” — I stopped with that because my husband and I moved aboard a sailboat and went cruising, and it is really hard to paint or collage aboard a rocking sailboat….Plus I got a great freelance writing gig writing about crochet that took up all my time.) But now I am getting back into mixed media art, and it is harder than I thought it would be, That’s because there are so many more interesting mixed media products available now that it is a bit overwhelming to actually choose some to work with, sit down and start a project.
Speaking of which, the new Hero Arts mixed media products look amazing! I really look forward to trying the waxes, and the new inks are gorgeous! Funny thing, the “Peony” and “Mist” colors look similar to some of the colors in the floral printed clothes I just bought — right “on trend”.
I was especially excited to see that your post included projects other than cards — not that there is anything wrong with cards. I LOVE making cards, but it is great to branch out and try other types of projects, too. The picture frame and tag are both wonderful — LOVE them! I was thinking of buying some new picture frames, but you remind me that I might be able to make ones that would be even better than the ones I could buy. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
I can’t wait to try the waxes!
