October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

Welcome back to the countdown to the release of the October My Monthly Hero Kit! Release is coming up tomorrow, Monday, October 7 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. Now let's join Nichol for another peek!

Hello! I'm so excited to share this retro Christmas scene card with you today featuring the October 2019 My Monthly Hero kit and Pop Art Fancy Dies add-on. The car, tree, packages, sentiments, and stars pair perfectly with the signage and Reactive Inks!

The background was created by masking off 3/4" along the bottom edge of a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" background. The top portion was inked with Lemon Drop, Splash, and Blue Hawaii Reactive Inks. More masking strips were adhered over the inked sky and "rays" were inked with Sea Salt Reactive Ink.

A sentiment and stars from the main kit were stamped with Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder.

The images from the main kit were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Intens-ified Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers. The images were adhered to the background scene with foam adhesive squares.

The Pop Art Fancy Dies were die cut from smooth white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.

The green sign was stamped with an additional greeting from the main kit using Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder. The sign pole was adhered directly to the card and the signs were adhered with foam adhesive.

The card was finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in silver scattered about the background. Iridescent glitter drops were used to embellish the ornaments and bows.

I can't wait to see what you all create with this incredible kit!

I love the Retro sign. Those were used for all sorts of things back in the day. We had a hamburger restaurant which used that very shape. I was called “Sandy’s” and was in the same spot for about 20 years.

The signs really do add to the retro feel. I just adore that red car you colored. I can’t wait to get these stamps.

I love the bold colors of this card, and the sign with the pop art shapes is perfect!
