May My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway
Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the May My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, May 4 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Our Creative Team will be here all weekend sharing sneak peeks. Please note, this month shipping will be delayed, as Hero Arts remains closed due to the shelter-in-place order. We estimate that shipping will begin on May 15, and continue until all boxes have shipped. We are so appreciative that so many of you have continued to order despite knowing we have delays. Thank you for your patience, support, and kind wishes. It means the world to us, and we send love and appreciation your way.
Now let's join Debi for the first look at this month's sunshiny kit!
Hi friends! I’m Debi Adams and I’m thrilled to be sharing a sneak peek into the NEW My Monthly Hero Kit for May. Let’s give a shout out for the power of positivity, encouraging thoughts, and uplifting messages. No better time to be spreading the love than now and no sweeter (and safer) way to show that than with some sweet cards. You may not be able to be with friends and family but you can let them know you are thinking about them. So today I have a card up with just a few of the many images that come in the kit. I think you are going to love this collection as much as I do!
Stamping all the images onto Dove White cardstock using Intense Black ink made the cardmaking process go much faster. It also makes for a perfect multiple card production line. I used a variety of bright Copic Markers to color the designs, adding darker coordinating colors to create shadows and dimension. To create the sun without the face, simply cover the face with Washi tape, ink the stamp up, remove the Washi tape and stamp! Now everything is ready to be die-cut. I love adding dimension with the designs so the only one I needed to hand cut was the rainbow and clouds and the word "you" from the sentiment in the set.
To create the background, I blended Pool Party and Blue Hawaii Reactive Inks onto a 3 3/4" x 5" Dove White cardstock base using a sponge dauber and then misted it lightly with water. I adhered the dried cardstock onto two matted, staggered, complimentary cardstock bases and adhered them to a top-folded Dove White card. Now it was a matter of assembling and adhering all the colored die designs. Tell me, do these sweet images make you smile? Hats off to the amazing, in-house designers at Hero Arts for another fabulous collection!
*** Win a kit before you can buy it *** Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post.
