We are back for another countdown post, leading up to the release of the May My Monthly Hero kit!. Release day is Monday, May 7th at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We'll be sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. And don't forget to leave a comment on this and every post as we will be giving away a kit on Monday. Now let's join Michelle who is sharing another look at this fabulous kit...

Isn't this just a wonderful kit! It is perfect for so many occasions. I just love the frame die in the main kit (I think this is a big favorite among all of the Creative Team), so I wanted to use that for my card today.

Thinking Of You by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

I started off by creating my background. I took a piece of watercolour paper and using an ink blending tool, applied the Ombre Reactive Spring Day Ink Pad, which is an add-on this month. I used all three colours and blended them so it looks like soft grass and sky. I then sprinkled on some water, let it sit and picked up any excess with a paper towel. This was added to a white card base with tape runner.

I then took the frame die from the kit and die cut this from white cardstock. The frame was then added on to the card with foam tape. I took one of the sentiments from the main kit stamp set and stamped this on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was added to the card with a combination of tape runner and foam tape. To finish off, I added a few clear jewels.

Fantastic card – I can think of so many uses for this die the team have shown two but I think it would be one of those dies I would keep coming back to for a variety of occasions I visualise a wedding card with a couple underneath (minus the swing) for example. I think this style of die may have to be the next on the list of basic supplies to buy to have for a complete craft space—-and this design is wonderful for so many occasions. It is simple, and sweet, and nostalgic, and brings back memories of a swing like that at my uncle’s house when I was a kid. I like the way the background was designed to give the impression of grass and sky. The clear gems add another dimension to the water marks on the background and remind me of morning dew. The simplicity of this card brings more focus to the loving sentiment.
