March My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

Ilina Crouse

We're back for another post as we count down to the release of the March My Monthly Hero Kit on Monday, March 4 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. Let's join Ilina, who's sharing a fun and colorful card using the kit!

Hi everyone! Ilina here with you today sharing some inspiration using the new March My Monthly Hero kit. I love the ocean, beach and everything that has to do with water and swimming, so this kit is right up my alley. The kit is full of images and sentiments, coordinating dies and one Fancy Die. Also included in the kit are three Reactive Ink cubes.

To make today's card I used the Hero Arts Neon inks (Purple, Pink, Red, Green, Orange, Blue, Yellow.) I stamped the images and die cut them. I used Soft Apricot for the castle and sea horses. I cut a panel from Dove White card stock measuring 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" and ink blended the Reactive Inks, then sprayed some water to create an ocean like look.

I took a Side Folded Dove White Card and trimmed at 1 1/4" from the fold. Then the left over piece I trimmed to 3/4" wide. To make the window, I cut a piece of acetate measuring 3" x 5 1/2". I folded my card down and lined the 3/4" strip on the right edge. This will create the window in the middle. Added some strong adhesive and adhered the acetate making sure that the white strip on the right hand side is aligned with the bottom layer of the card.

I cut two more panels from Dove White cardstock measuring 7/8" x 5 1/2" and 1 3/8" x 5 1/2". Adhered them on top of the acetate. This way the acetate sheet is sandwiched between two pieces of card stock and the adhesive is not visible. Once I created my note card I adhered the ink blended strip on the inside of the card, then arranged all the elements and adhered to the card.

I stamped the sentiment onto Pitch Black cardstock using Versamark and embossed in white. Trimmed to size and adhered to the card. Added some of the droplets that come in the kit as finishing touch!

Thank you so much for joining me today and have wonderful weekend.
