Good morning everyone. It's Dana here with you today. Who needs to restock their birthday cards? (insert my raised hand) Today let's make a gorgeous card in tones of blue. When starting a card I like to have a plan. Sketching out my card and picking colors is a great starting point. This way when I grab my products, I can get start working pretty quickly.
First I trimmed down a piece of Dove White cardstock to an A2 card size (4.25" x 5.50"). For my design I used the Overlapping Circle Stencil with two beautiful blue inks. The colors are Splash and Blue Hawaii Reactive Inks. Using a Medium Blending Brush, I added the ink coming from the top left hand corner and the bottom right hand corner of the cardstock. Starting with the lightest ink color and moving to the darker color to add depth just in the corners of the panel.
To keep it light and bright, I left some areas of the stencil with very little ink. Now it was time to add a sentiment. Keeping with the same color scheme, I stamped out two sentiments from the Yay! Birthday Bundle. The wish sentiment has an ombre effect by using both colors of ink and blending them together with a blending brush. Using an ombre effect on your sentiments really makes them pop.
For the smaller sentiment, I trimmed it down using my paper trimmer. The wish sentiment was die cut using the coordinating die in the bundle. To add some height to both sentiments I adhered additional die cuts behind the wish sentiment. And for the smaller sentiment I used a thin double sided foam tape.
I completed the card by using a few enamel stickers from the April 2023 My Monthly Hero Premium Kit. This give just a bit of additional color to my card.
