Love is in the Air Challenge!
Good morning! Lisa here from A Blog Named Hero to entice you to join this month's challenge.
We're calling it Love is in the Air, and it's based on this color palette. Why Love is in the Air? Well, the challenge started the day after Valentine's Day, so love is still lingering. Along with some chocolates, I hope.
I wasn't really sure what I was going to make for the challenge, but when I pulled up the inspiration and then tried to match it with Hero Arts ink colors, I did so well, that the card kind of made itself.
I used four colors of Hero Arts ink; Soft Pink, Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink and Grape Juice. Using a blender tool with foam, on watercolor paper, these inks blended wonderfully. As you can see, I had a bit of an oops with the Grape Juice in the bottom right corner, so to make it less obvious I spritzed the entire panel with shimmer spray. Once that dried, the blend was practically seamless.
And look at all that gorgeous shimmer. To keep with that theme I stamped the sentiment from Happy Mail with Versamark ink and embossed with Platinum Embossing Powder. I cut that with a circle from the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies and used a larger circle to cut out a layering piece for the sentiment. That was made by blending some Grape Juice ink onto some white cardstock. Perfectly matching paper makes me happy.
To finish the card I used the largest Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Die to cut the panel and then adhered it to a folded card base before adding the sentiment and some Ombre Purple sequins.
I do hope you'll join us for this month's challenge. There are two prizes to be won, a $50 and a $25 gift card to the Hero Arts store.
Lovely card!! The color blending has come out so well !!
What a great card! Love the color combo and your blending is spot on…
Thanks for the lovely colors!
The gradient of pinks with the purple added so much to the card!
The gradient is indeed seamless and I love the shimmer effect. Beautiful background. Now I should work on my own version of the challenge. Inspiring!
Cute card Lisa!! I want to try my hand using a blender tool. That looks so cool and fun, too!
