We are back with another look at the July My Monthly Hero Release! The kit will be available on Monday, July 3rd at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Hello! I’m thrilled to share a pair of CAS cards using the gorgeous florals from the new kit! The floral images are so pretty that they don’t need much more than a little bit of masking and some color! ;)

I started by stamping the jug onto a piece of Snow Layering paper with intense black ink and then masked it with a post-it note. Then I stamped the sweet pea bouquet with the same ink and colored them with copic markers. I follow a florist on instagram and used one of her photos for inspiration for my sweet peas! I chose three colors for each flower, two darker shades and one much lighter shade and started with the darkest color at the bottom of each flower and blended it out to the very light shade. I used reds (R20, R35, R37) and pinks (RV10, RV14, RV25) on one card and purples (V000, V12, V15) and the same pinks on the other. Then I added a little green to the stems and vines with BG90, BG93, and BG96 and colored the jugs with W0, W2, W4, and W6.

To finish my card I combined two sentiments from the kit and stamped them with versafine before heat-embossing them with clear embossing powder. I trimmed the panel down to 4″ by 5.25″ and adhered it to a Snow folded card with foam mounting tape. I really love the way these turned out! I’ve been having so much fun coloring the flowers from the kit and I know you will, too! ;)
