Stamped Ink Paintings
I absolutely love everything included in the September release, but my very favorite is the Ink Painting Scene stamp set. I actually had the opportunity to travel to China on business back in fall of 2004, and it was a trip I'll never forget. I loved the art done in the style that this stamp set is capturing - mountains, trees, buildings drawn in black ink, with a wash of watercolor added. I bought two paintings like this, they hang in my dining room still.
My first card mimics this style. I stamped the scene in Black Dye Ink, and made sure it was completely dry. Then I added watercolor to the scene, using Mulled Wine, Purple, Dandelion, Pine, Teal and Black liquid watercolors.
The message was Black Embossed on Classic Vellum Layering Paper, and a strip of silver glitter from my stash was added at the bottom. The final card base was the darkest color from the Floral Mixed Folded Cards.
For my next card, I made a focal point by stamping a crane from the set, coloring with Copics and then die cutting with the Ink Painting Scene Frame Cuts.
A village was stamped using Soft Granite ink on a die cut oval from the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies. The background panel is Decorate Woodgrain Cardstock, and mounted on a card from the Pool Mixed Folded Cards set.
The ink scenes created with this set really do fill my life with beauty and grace.
Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful cards. So serene.
