Happy Mother's Day Inspiration

Mindy Eggen

Hello crafty friends! This is Mindy with you today to share some heartfelt Mother's Day inspiration. Creating cards for this occasion is a wonderful way to show appreciation for the incredible mothers in our lives. But let’s think beyond the traditional — these cards can also be a beautiful gesture for friends who are moms, sisters, teachers, or any nurturing figure who deserves a little extra love and recognition.

I know so many mothers who find joy in flowers and gardening, which makes the Die Set of the Month for May 2025 a perfect fit for this occasion. With its delicate details and nature-inspired design, it’s ideal for creating something that feels personal, thoughtful, and seasonally appropriate.

To bring my flower shop to life, I used a beautiful variety of Spellbinders cardstock. For the shop itself, I layered shades like Blush , Tutu , and Wild Berry to create soft, feminine floral tones. For the window and door, I went with Seaside and Waterfall , which added a refreshing pop of cool color that really balances the overall design.

I have to admit, I’d love to have a real flower shop that looks just like this! The pastel tones, charming details, and overall cheerful vibe make it the kind of space I’d want to walk into every day.

If you’re a subscriber to the Whole Studio, you’ll receive a bonus stamp set—and the sentiments included are just the right size to add a personal touch to the top of the flower shop building. They tie everything together beautifully and add that extra charm to your card.

To ground my scene, I blended a bit of Azalea Ink to the bottom of an A2-sized piece of Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock using a large blending brush. It adds just the right touch of color to anchor the flower shop.

For the sentiment I'm using the Happy Easter Stamp & Cut XL. I die cut the large “happy” from Blush cardstock and paired it with a smaller sentiment that I heat embossed in white onto black cardstock using Unicorn Pigment Ink and white embossing powder.

I hope this project has inspired you to create something heartfelt for the special moms (and mom-figures) in your life. Whether it’s for Mother’s Day or just because, a handmade card is always a beautiful way to show you care. Thanks so much for stopping by today—be sure to leave a comment and let me know who you’ll be crafting for!
