From the Mind of Milagros: Box Scene
Hero Arts
With this post we are launching a new feature on the blog - From the Mind of Milagros! Milagros Rivera is the owner of a store in Puerto Rico called Paper Boutique. We are always amazed and inspired by what she does with Hero Arts products. We hope you will enjoy getting a little glimpse into her creative process, as she thinks outside the box - or in the case today, inside the box!
When my mind brings forth an idea it doesn’t come with instructions. So my video will show how I process what I visualize. In order for you to be able to follow there will be some instructions with measurements afterwards.
Now let's take a closer look at some of the details, if you'd like to try to replicate this project...
Everything will be cut from watercolor paper. You will need a 6 3/4” x 6 3/4” piece, which you will score both horizontal and vertically using the same measures - 1/2”, 2”, 4 3/4", and 6 1/4”. Score on one side of the paper, then flip and repeat the marks, so they overlap. Fold with a bone folder.
I used these measurements because we’re making a square that fits the square frame from Looking Glass Circle & Square Frames. This could also be very cute with the circle within the square.
Once you have your piece squared and scored you’re going to cut off the excess. I think it would be totally ok to do this process first so it’s easier to know what you’re painting.
To build the house from Neighborhood Houses Fancy Dies in a 3-D fashion, here’s what you’ll need:
And to build it up here’s how the assembly looks:
Once you have all your sides glued you can add the roof!
Thank you Milagros for sharing your creativity today! And thank you all for reading.
