Hello and welcome to our second Friend Friday with Chameleon! We are honored that they’ve asked us to collaborate with them this month. Our artists will show creations each Friday in December, colored with the fabulous Chameleon pens – and over at their blog, the Chameleon design team is coloring Hero Arts images, too! So much fun! And of course there will be prizes! Keep reading to the end of this post for more information. Now let’s join Jayne as she shares her Chameleon colored valentine cards!

Today I’m sharing three valentine cards that I made with a few Hero Arts products and then colored with some Chameleon pens. Although I’ve only used these amazing markers a few times, I love how easily they can be used to create vivid colors with gradations and shading! They are perfect for adding both bright and subtle colors to stamped designs and paper shapes!

For each of my cards, I started by quickly applying watercolors onto watercolor cardstock and then adding a few splatters of black paint. Using a pink Chameleon pen, I colored multiple pieces of white cardstock and then cut a variety of heart shapes with the new Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies. I love how easy and quick it was to create ombre shading on each heart with these markers! After stitching the hearts to the panel, I added embossed sentiments from the Many Everyday Messages set.

Then, I stamped several fruit images from the Stamp Your Own Fruit set with Intense Black ink. For the lemon and pear images, I simply used Chameleon markers to apply gradated color across the entire image, not worrying about staying within the lines. When I cut around the images, this created colored borders … a not-so-fussy look for a relaxed design.

For the apple, I used the markers to color within the lines of the image. With a black Chameleon pen, I added small dots to all of the fruit images. After securing the completed panels to white card bases, I added small black bows to each stem and a few clear gems across each background.
