Floating Acetate Tri-Fold Card
Anna Mahtani
Hello! Anna here and I'm sharing a floating acetate tri-fold card using the elements from the February 2025 Card Kit of the Month.

First, I stamped the color layering tulips with reactive inks on a piece of watercolor paper using a stamp positioning tool. I used Key Lime Fizz for the base of the leaves and Green Apple for the detail layer, these are from the Nature Palette Reactive Ink Cubes. For the tulips, I used Thistle for the base of the flowers, then Purple Galaxy for the details. These inks are from the Floral Palette Reactive Ink Cubes. I spritzed the stamps with a light mist of water after inking to achieve a softer effect. Then on the same paper I stamped the dragonfly and butterflies with reactive inks but this time with a combination of inks from the Sea Palette Reactive Ink Cubes. Then I die cut them out using the coordinating dies.

For the background of my card, I placed the Circling Clouds Cling Stamp that came in the kit on to a stamp positioning tool. I used Lemon Drop, Creamsicle and Taffy inks from the Sunshine Palette Ink Cubes. I started with Lemon Drop, tapping the ink cube on the outer edges of the cling stamp. Then I added Creamsicle ink, tapping it towards the middle and then finally for the middle part, I used Taffy Reactive ink. I spritzed a fine mist of water onto the stamp before stamping it down onto the watercolor paper. And while the paper was still wet with ink, I took a paintbrush to spread the color around then set it aside to dry.
And while I had the Floral Palette Reactive Ink Cubes out, I used the Thistle, Grape Slush and Purple Galaxy to watercolor on scrap watercolor paper, then when dry, I die cut the word thanks.

Next, I cut down the background panel to fit the front of a 4.5" x 5.5" white side-folding notecard.

Then I took an 8.5" x 11" sheet of acetate and cut in half on the 8.5" and scored it in half to make a top folding acetate card.
Next, I adhered all the die-cut elements. I started by adhering the color layering tulips at the bottom front of the top-folding acetate. Then I adhered the background on the top of the side folding white note card.

Then, I assembled the card by inserting the back of the acetate in between the side folding notecard and glueing it down. Then I added another piece of white cardstock to sandwich the acetate. This created a tri-fold card, with the acetate opening at the top, then the background opening to the side.
Then to finish off the card, I adhered the "thanks" die cut sentiment; adding a vellum shadow cut out using the coordinating shadow die; on the circling cloud background. Then added three butterflies on the acetate and the rest on the inside of the tri-fold card.

I hope this tutorial inspired you to make a floating acetate tri-fold card.
Have a wonderful crafty day!
