Cue the Confetti: It's an Interactive Birthday Surprise!
Anna Mahtani
Hello friends! Anna here showing you a creative way to use the Folded Love Note Fancy Die. Don't limit yourself by only using it for Valentine's when it can be used all year round! For today's card, I'm using the die to create a birthday card with a fun surprise!

First, I took a piece of Dove White Cardstock measuring 8.5"x5.5", and on the 8.5" side, I scored it at 2 1/8", turned it to the other side and scored again at 2 1/8". I folded both sides to create a gatefold card base. Then I took another piece of white cardstock and die cut it using the Folded Love Note Fancy Die. Then folded it along all the scored lines.
For the background, I used the Birthday Balloons Bold Prints, white heat-embossed on Dove White Cardstock. Then I ink-blended starting with Lemon Drop Reactive Ink at the top and then followed by Taffy Reactive Ink, both from the Sunshine Palette Reactive Ink Cube Set. Then from the Floral Palette Reactive Ink Cube Set, I continued to blend in Berry Smoothie and then Thistle and finally, Purple Galaxy. After ink blending, I wiped off the excess ink with a soft microfiber cloth.
Next, I ink-blended the same combination of ink colors on the folded love note, starting from left to right. I also ink-blended on another piece of cardstock to use for the die cut sentiment. The die-cut sentiment word "Celebrate" and it's shadow is from the It's Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL Set.

Then I took the border stamp from the Love Note Messages Stamp and Cut and stamped it in the middle of the folded love note. I used the same color inks I used for the ink-blended backgrounds to stamp all elements. Next, I stamped all the hearts and lips icons on the folded areas surrounding the middle. I then took the Happy Birthday stamp from the It's Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL and stamped it in the middle.
Next, I adhered one side of the folded love note to the inner part on half of the gatefold base, aligning it with the edge. Then I closed up the folded note, added glue to the other side of closed note, then pressed down the other half of the gatefold onto the closed note. So, when you open the two sides of the gatefold, the folded note opens up with it to reveal the greeting.

For the front of the card, I trimmed down the ink-blended balloon background to 4" x 5.25" then cut it in half at 2" and adhered each half to the front of the gatefold base.

To create the belly band, I used a strip of vellum cut to 8.5" x 1.75", wrapped it around the closed card, then adhered the "Celebrate" die cut sentiment on top.
As a finishing touch, I added some clay "confetti" inside. When the recipient opens up the card, they are in for a fun surprise!
