National Craft Month Challenge: Dressing Up Envelopes
Hero Arts
We're already midway through National Craft Month and this week we have a new creative prompt for you! We challenge you to dress up your card envelopes. Stamping, coloring, doodling, hand lettering...anything goes! Share your decorated envelopes HERE and you'll be entered to win a Hero Arts prize pack valued at more than $100!
How about some envelope inspiration? Jess is here with some fabulous ideas for you!
Hi friends, Jess here with a fun idea for creating stickers to decorate my envelopes using the fabulous Mail Delivery set!
This stamp set was designed in collaboration with all of the companies in the first Stamping Village along with Jennifer McGuire! It is only available in 2019 and 100% of net profits from this set will benefit The Dreaming Zebra Foundation. Each company designed one of the stamps and you can see some key style elements and iconic images from each company! I love this little Hero Arts fairy!
So to create my stickers I started by stamping each outline stamp (Waffleflower, Lawn Fawn, and Pinkfresh) onto Hero Hues Dove White cardstock with Versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored those with Copic markers. Then I placed the Hero Arts stamp on the lid of my MISTI and used the Ombre Pink to Red ink pad to stamp it. I cleaned off my stamp and immediately inked it with Versamark and stamped over the initial image before heat-embossing it with sparkle embossing powder. I repeated the same process on Paradise cardstock using the Ombre Tide Pool to Navy ink pad.
Next I placed a piece of Stick It adhesive on the back of the Dove White cardstock. I stamped the images as close to each other as possible so as not to waste the adhesive! Then I die-cut the round images using one of the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies. I also used a Nesting Heart Infinity Die to die-cut the Paradise cardstock. The adhesive has a backing paper on both sides so the stickers are safe until you're ready to use them!
The new Hero Hues envelopes are available in Dove White, Sand, and Antique Ivory. I've used Sand and Dove White in my samples today. They have that beautiful unique flap design (which is perfectly complemented by the label stickers)!
I hope this inspires you to decorate your envelopes! If you don't have Stick It or another sheet adhesive you can just create your circles and then use Precision Glue to adhere them when you need them! Thanks so much for stopping by and I can't wait to see your envelopes!!
