Cowboy Boot Inlay Design
Hey y'all! Do you ever see stamps and dies and they just speak to you? Loudly? That was me with the Summer Collection - all of the southwest-inspired products made my heart sing! I lived in Texas for fifteen years after graduating from college - my kids are both native-born Texans. So I simply cannot resist a good cowboy boot!
I began by die cutting the Fancy Boot Fancy Die from watercolor paper. I watercolored it in colors that I would want if I were to buy cowboy boots! I used Liquid Watercolors in Purple, Indigo, ArtPrint Brown and Black. The pretty little scroll designs actually pop out, so there are several ways you could use this die. You could remove them, then simply put a different color of paper behind them. Or you could do it as I did here - inlay them! I watercolored the designs separately with the Indigo Liquid Watercolor, then carefully popped them back into place when everything was dry. I watercolored the boot so it looks a bit "rustic" - these are not brand new, shiny boots. I wore my purple boots when I was out wrangling my horses. Or something.
The message for my card comes from the Cowboy Life stamp set, which is another great cowboy-themed product I adore. For the background of the card, I used that same Indigo Liquid Watercolor on some Decorative Woodgrain Cardstock, then die cut it with the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies.
Thanks for kicking up your heels with me today! Enjoy your day.
