Cookie Sheet Gift Tags
The holidays are the perfect time to thank teachers, co-workers, friends and family for their kindness during the year. If you express your gratitude with a small gift, I think that handmade gift tags make these small gifts feel extra-special and heartfelt.
Today I’m sharing a pair of fun gift tags that I made with the adorable, new Christmas Gingerbread Cookies set. I think that the cookie stamps in this set are the ideal size, not too big nor too small. Wouldn’t these tags be cute paired with a holiday oven mitt, a nice bottle of vanilla, a new cookbook, or a plate of homemade cookies?
To make each tag, I started by cutting two panels, with rounded corners, from Pebble cardstock. I trimmed these pieces to 2-1/2” by 3-3/4”, but any size will work. I scored lines 1/4” from each end of one panel and bent the ends up to resemble a cookie sheet. With the remaining piece, I punched a hole at one end and then scored a line below the hole, to create a hinged tag. I secured the two pieces together, above the scored line, with double-sided tape. If you prefer to make cards, you could secure the cookie sheet panel to a full card front.
Now the fun part: I stamped an assortment of shaped cookies from the Christmas Gingerbread Cookies set on Dove White cardstock using Intens-ified Black ink. I love using this ink as it doesn’t smear or bleed when using alcohol-based markers. After coloring the images, I added a few highlights with a white gel pen, fussy-cut around each shape, and secured them onto the tags with foam adhesive.
To make the sentiment strips, I chose two sentiments from the Christmas Gingerbread Cookies set. Not only do I love the images in this set, but it’s worth mentioning the variety of messages included for holiday tags and cards. I stamped the sentiments with Clear Embossing and Watermark ink onto Azalea cardstock and then embossed them with white embossing powder. After trimming each sentiment, I secured them to the tags with foam adhesive. To finish each tag, I added a trio of Sunset Hero Hues Enamel Dots.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope that you are inspired to make a few gift tags this holiday season. ’Tis the season for tags!
Just so adorable! What a great way to get the most from your stamps! Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
