Color Blocked Treats

Clare Prezzia

Hey there! Clare here today, with a fun card using some of the add-ons from this month's My Monthly Hero.

I really loved the color blocked look of one of the cards I did for the blog hop yesterday, so I decided to repeat that look, except using some different colors and the new You're Sweet As Pie and County Fair Bold Prints.

I started off by blending backgrounds onto little rectangles, using Pale Tomato, Soft Apricot, Dandelion, Cotton Candy, Tide Pool and Stone Wash.

After I pieced the backgrounds together, I heat set them and then stamped the County Fair Bold Prints in Versamark. I heat embossed with some clear Sparkle powder - I love the subtle touch of glitter this gives the card!

Then I stamped several of the images from You're Sweet As Pie in Versamark on black cardstock, heat embossed in white and then die-cut them.

I adhered them to the base, along with some sentiments also heat embossed in white on black cardstock. I finished the card off with some Sunshine and Pool pearls.

What do you think? Have you ever tried color blocking a card before? If you haven't, give it a go and let me know what you think! :)

Thanks for stopping in today and God bless!

So fun! Great idea to flip the colors behind the items instead of in the items. TFS!

I love the light hearted feel and look of this month’s kit. I’m gonna go buy my county fair tickets, NOW! One of my first dates with my husband was going to the pier and riding the Ferris wheel and the roller coaster. He’s getting a card to remind him of our fun times.
