Buffalo Plaid for the Holidays
I’m loving buffalo plaid lately, and today I’m going to show you how you can easily create this pattern and incorporate it into your holiday cards.
I started with piece of red and white grid patterned paper from Kelly’s Designer Paper Pad. This small grid provided the perfect guidelines for stamping. I simply counted six boxes, stamped the back side of a clear border stamp with Charcoal ink, left six boxes empty, stamped again, and repeated until the plaid pattern was complete. So easy to do! Any long, rectangular border stamp will work for this.
To get the darker color where the lines intersect, I created my own small square stencil from an acetate sheet and then sponged on Black ink. Buffalo check…check!
Even though red and black are more traditional, I made a green version just for fun. It also started with a piece of patterned paper from Kelly’s Designer Paper Pad. I finished the cards off with a die cut and sentiment from the Winter Cheer Tag Set by Lia and baker’s twine.
That’s all for today, thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Tuesday!
