Bold Ink Blended Friendship Blooms

Natasha Polite

Hi friends! Natasha Polite of Polite Creations joining you today on the Hero Arts blog with bold cards featuring both the Small Flower and Large Flower Layering Fancy Dies from the Friendship Blooms Collection.

I began by die cutting all of the flower petals of both Fancy Die sets two times from Dove White cardstock. I then die cut 6 smaller leaves and 5 of each of the flower centers from Dove White cardstock as well. The larger leaves were die cut 4 times from Pesto Cardstock.

Then I laid out all of florals and began ink blended. The Reactive Inks used include: Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Fruit Punch, and Key Lime Fizz. I also used Byzantine Green and Spanish Orange Reactive Glitz Inks.

I mixed different shapes of flowers and centers to create variation. The largest flower was created by lightly blending Lemon Drop from the flower center outward. I then lightly blended Fruit Punch on top. The rich red orange flowers were created by first blending Creamsicle over each of the petals. I then used Spanish Orange at the center, followed by Fruit Punch. The smallest flower is Fruit Punch only. The largest center is Lemon Drop, the orange center is Creamsicle and the white is simply Dove White cardstock.

The layered yellow flowers are created using Lemon Drop from the center outward. The Pesto cardstock leaves have Byzantine Green ink blended along the stem and base of each leaf. The smaller leaves have a base of Key Lime Fizz with Byzantine Green lightly blended as well.

Each of the A2 backgrounds were created using Peacock Cardstock. I heat embossed the Pearl Strings Bold Prints Cling Stamp with Clear Embossing Powder onto 2 of the panels. I splattered white onto the third panel. Each of the flowers were first layered using foam squares and then adhered to the card panel using foam squares as well.

The sentiments used come from the Clear Stamp Set + Dies for this month. They were stamped onto Dove White with either Creamsicle, Lemon Drop or Fruit Punch Reactive Ink and then popped up with foam as well. The card above features a heat embossed card panel that is 3 1/2" x 4 3/4", layered onto an A2 panel of Dove White.

Thank you for joining me today!

Happy crafting,
