Birthday Birds of Paradise
Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I'm sharing a lush birthday card featuring the August Clear Set + Dies of the Month (Birds of Paradise). These floral images were very easy to color with minimal blending!
I started off by stamping the images in Copic-friendly Intense Black ink onto Dove White cardstock. Using a variety of Copic markers, I colored the images, blending only the red, orange, and yellows. The colors I used were YG17, G21, Y18, YR16, YR09, R05, and FB2. Next, I used the coordinating dies to cut out all of the images.
Next, I used an extra large blending brush to blend Aquatic ink over the top half of a 4.25" x 5.5" panel of Arctic cardstock, letting the color get lighter towards the middle of the panel. Then, I used the fourth largest die from the Pointed Arches Infinity Die Set to die cut a window from a 4.25" x 5.5" panel of Dove White cardstock. I glued these two pieces together, placing glue only at the outer border of the panels so that I would be able to tuck the floral images between the two layers.
I arranged the flowers and leaves and used a combination of glue and foam tape, for varying dimension, to adhere them into place. Next, I stamped the sentiment in Onyx pigment ink, die cut it out, and glued it to the front of the panel. To finish, I glued the panel to a top-folded card base.
This is beautiful, Seeka. Your step-by-step explanation sounds like it comes together easily, too. Tropical perfection!
