Bewitched By You!
Kelly Purkey’s mini clear stamp sets from the Holiday 2016 catalog are simply adorable! Especially Halloween sets! And since this spooky and fun holiday is just around the corner why not make a Halloween card? I don’t usually make cards for this time of year, but I decided to make one for my honey.
The Spooktacular stamp set has several sentiments that work for great for little Halloween love cards. I used “You’ve Got Me Under Your Spell” and stamped it using the Ombré Neon Yellow to Orange ink pad for a fun pop of color. There’s also “Bewitched By You” and “For My Boo” – all make great little affectionate cards.
To create this card I blended 3 shades of purple from the Ombré Light Purple to Grape Juice ink pad onto a sheet of purple cardstock. These days I’m using colored paper instead of white when I want to do ink blending as when you have a colored base you need to add a lot less ink to your paper to have that ink blended look. Makes it easier on the wrist, too. I also added a bit of black ink at the bottom.
The main sentiment “Bewitched By You” was heat embossed using white embossing powder onto purple cardstock and trimmed into a V-shape banner. I also stamped a bunch of ghosts and a few other images and colored all of them using my Copic markers. There are no coordinating dies for this set, so images need to be cut out by hand. I did use a circle die from the Circle Infinity set to cut a window in my white panel and have a place for the purple ink blended background.
I used a lot of foam adhesive to add dimension to my project and also adhered several black pearls to add a few finishing touches to this card.
