Autumn Wishes Leaf Globe

Oct 15, 2021 Jayne Nelson

The current Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge theme, Fall Colors, is a perfect opportunity to create a fall card with your favorite autumn stamps using your most loved fall inks. Today, I’m sharing a fall card with a fun “leaf globe”, inspired by the beautiful Leaves in the Wind Bold Prints background. The swirling, windblown leaves on this stamp, colored with traditional fall colors, make a wonderful background for any autumn scene.

For my card, I started by stamping the Leaves in the Wind Bold Prints background with Insten-ified Black ink onto a piece of Dove White cardstock. Then, I colored the leaves with colored pencils and die cut my favorite portion of the panel with a Nesting Circle Infinity Dies. I used the same circle die to cut a small hill from Palm cardstock which I secured to the circle panel with Precision Glue. Using two circle dies, I also cut a narrow frame from Chestnut cardstock and glued it to the circle. Before securing the "leaf globe” to a Palm card base topped with a trimmed white panel, I cut the lower edge of the stamped circle off, below the hill, creating a flat edge to position on a base. I stamped the adorable house from the Little Red Riding Hood set, colored it, cut around it with the coordinating die, and positioned it on the hill with foam tape.

Next, I stamped and embossed a bold Happy Autumn sentiment, from the fantastic Autumn Messages set, with Clear Embossing ink and White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Chestnut cardstock. To create the appearance of a base, I secured the strip below the “globe” with foam tape. I also stamped another sentiment from the same set onto the card with Cup O’ Joe ink. This message set is chock full of great, fall-themed sentiments for both Halloween and Thanksgiving.

For a couple extra elements, I finished the card with several Sunset Enamel Dots and tied the edge with some black cording. I had so much fun making a fall-colored “leaf globe” on my card, I hope that you’re inspired to also use this month’s theme to create a card or two. We’d love to see the creative ways that you’ve used the Fall Colors theme as a starting point for your cards.

There’s still plenty of time to join the current challenge. Entries can be submitted until Thursday, November 4th at 5:00 pm PT to be eligible for the $50 gift card giveaway.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Wishing you a wonderful, crafty day and weekend!
