August My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway
Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the August My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, August 3 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Our Creative Team will be here all weekend long, sharing inspiration before the launch on Monday. Now let's join Debi for the first look at the kit!
Oh hey! Time for some fun in the sun via a "staycation"! I’m Debi Adams and here’s a sneak peek into the My Monthly Hero Kit for August 2020. There are soooo many fabulous designs, yet again, that it made it hard to show just one card using this collection. I loved the positivity in these designs that, in spite of not being able to travel much, we can still find some chillaxin’ things to do.
This card uses strips of yellow and blue cardstock adhered to a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” top folding card for the background. A rectangle is die-cut from a piece of 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” Dove White cardstock using the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies and then the large sentiment is stamped at the bottom with Intense Black ink. The entire frame is adhered to the main card base using foam dots. Now the fun begins! I love the stamping, die-cutting and coloring of the images. It’s kind of like putting the frosting on the cake. All my images were colored with Copic markers. The last image, “Hello From:” was stamped and embossed using white embossing powder and VersaMark onto Pitch Black cardstock. That’s it! I love that creating is one of those things we can do while being safe inside our home.

I’m late to the party! It’s the 1st of August, how did July disappear? This card makes me long for the warmer weather. Lots of people headed up north to coral bay and karajini national park and had temperatures of 25-30 degrees Celsius…but me and the children had a winter staycation…sadly without the sun hats and the sun….

I immediately thought of the kit that layered up like the ocean with the embossing powder that mimicked Sand… I wonder if you could use the embossing powder that looks like snow to make the sea foam? I love this card. The sentiment is GREAT. I usually spend a lot of my time reading in the summer usually at a lake. With Covid19 this summer that didn’t happen but this card makes me feel like I was there. Thanks for sharing.
