Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the April My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, April 1 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. Our Creative Team will be here for the next three days sharing ideas for using the kit. Stay tuned for more inspiration all weekend long! Now let's join Caly for a first look at the kit...

Hi, Friends! It's Caly with you today sharing a card made using the April My Monthly Hero Kit! The kit is die-focused to create an Italian scene and it can change with the different elements that are available and I hope my take on this card inspires you!

You can create your Italian scene with a variety of mediums and colors. Today, I'm focusing on a more realistic view (from what I imagine) with more neutral colors.

I've ink-blended each of my panels today. You can ink-blend after die-cutting also, but for my pieces, I ink-blended before color so the edges show no harsh ink coverage.

These are the following ink colors that I used for my card:

Caramel: Bridge

Soft Apricot: Buildings

Dandelion: light under building die-cuts

Wet Cement: Birds, clothing line, bottom fo buildings

Aquatic: Water die-cut

Indigo: Water - on card front (under die-cut water panel)

Dusty Blue: Sky

Intense Black: Sentiment

Woot! Italy is somewhere I’ve always thought I’d love to visit. Nothing wrong with dreaming… Your card is absolutely WOW in an understated way. The soft colours on the buildings & the varying shades of blue in the water, & to top it off, laundry hanging across the canal. I love it! I also love hanging laundry outside so this card speaks to me. Thanks for giving us a sneak peek at what looks to be an intruiging April Hero Arts Kit. Your card and this kit are so intriguing. Love the soft colors and the ink blending! Also the tip to blend ink BEFORE cutting to avoid those hard colors on the edges. Most of all I am intrigued by the Italian connection. Such a beautiful and varied country and it looks like the kit could be adapted to many other places-who doesn’t do laundry after all? Lol
