April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway
Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the April My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, April 1 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. Our Creative Team will be here for the next three days sharing ideas for using the kit. Stay tuned for more inspiration all weekend long! Now let's join Caly for a first look at the kit...
Hi, Friends! It's Caly with you today sharing a card made using the April My Monthly Hero Kit! The kit is die-focused to create an Italian scene and it can change with the different elements that are available and I hope my take on this card inspires you!
You can create your Italian scene with a variety of mediums and colors. Today, I'm focusing on a more realistic view (from what I imagine) with more neutral colors.
I've ink-blended each of my panels today. You can ink-blend after die-cutting also, but for my pieces, I ink-blended before color so the edges show no harsh ink coverage.

Caly, I like your take on the Italian view of the ocean or the waterway! Such soft colors are so fun and make me want to go relax on a gondola and have some tea, or a glass of something sparkly and bubbly! Your tip about distressing the cardstock before you cut the die out is great! I will try that and see how well it works for me. Thanks! Great card!!!

Oooh….that looks like an interesting kit. I think you could also adapt it to use in other ways – a laundry line for kids clothes, or “just hanging out”. Plus the bridge could be used in other generic scenes.

Woot! Italy is somewhere I’ve always thought I’d love to visit. Nothing wrong with dreaming… Your card is absolutely WOW in an understated way. The soft colours on the buildings & the varying shades of blue in the water, & to top it off, laundry hanging across the canal. I love it! Your card and this kit are so intriguing. Love the soft colors and the ink blending! Also the tip to blend ink BEFORE cutting to avoid those hard colors on the edges. Most of all I am intrigued by the Italian connection. Such a beautiful and varied country and it looks like the kit could be adapted to many other places-who doesn’t do laundry after all? Lol
