April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway

It's time for our next countdown peek! The April My Monthly Hero kit will be available to pre-order on Monday, April 6 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Now let’s join Ilina, who is sharing some more fabulous inspiration using this month's kit!

Hi everyone! I am in love with the April kit and I believe you will be too. I decided to depict a desert Australian scene. To make the card I started with piece of Canary Cardstock and temporarily adhered the stencil to it. I ink blended Butter Bar, Fresh Peach and Soft Cantaloupe Shadow inks, starting from lightest around the sun, and darkest on the edges.

Next secure the stencil on piece of Sand Cardstock and ink blend Soft Brown and Cup o' Joe Shadow inks on the sand part. Trim it to only have the sand edge. Adhere on top of the Canary layer using foam tape.

Ink blend Fresh Peach and Soft Cantaloupe inks on Canary Cardstock. Using Cup'o Joe ink stamp the boulder. Die cut using the coordinating die.

Stamp the tree using Moss and Cup O'Joe inks on Dove White Cardstock. Die cut using coordinating dies, ink blend some Butter Bar and Soft Brown inks to blend in with the background. Stamp the kangaroo on Sand Cardstock using Cup O'Joe ink. Stamp the sentiment in the middle of the sun and assemble your panel and adhere to a top folding Sand notecard.

And that's it!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, April 6, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck!

    Pretty card example!
How fun to see that the stencil can also be used very well as a sandy background (instead of the water background example from the first post).

Wow! Love it! I’ve always wanted to go to Australia to see the kangaroos and koalas! I can’t hardly wait to get my monthly kit to see what is all in it!
