Accents with Embossing Powders

Good morning! Jess here with a clean and simple, easily mass-produced Halloween card featuring our Halloween Mirror stamp set!

When I make CAS cards I try to stick to a more monochromatic color palette to keep it truly "simple." But I like to find a little way to make something pop and today I'm using embossing powder from Hero Arts for that unexpected pop! To start I traced a line on my card base with a black pen to give my spider a way to dangle on the card. Then I stamped my sentiment from Halloween Mirror with Versamark along the line using my MISTI and then heat-embossed it with Detail Black Embossing Powder.

I decided to make my spider a little more exciting so I stamped her with Versafine and then heat-embossed her with Black Sparkle embossing powder. Then I added a little red Copic marker to the markings on her back to make her a true black widow spider! I love that the sparkle embossing powder has a rainbow of colors in the glitter which makes my spider just a little cuter and a little less scary, right? ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a fantastic (spider-free) day!

Awesome, although it is a CAS card, it is so great because of the monochromatic color palette and the embossing that realy pops up! Thank you so much for this great idea Jess.

This really is so very clean and simple! It’s the perfect design to make quickly and in great quantity! The black text and spider against the white background and the little mark of red on the hourglass really adds to the creepy but classy Halloween aesthetic. A really great card to send to those who are squeamish around spiders.

That is just so clever.I really like the shine from the embossing and making the spider an integral part of the greeting.
