Reverse Foiling Ideas with Michelle Short and Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes Collection
Hello there, Michelle Short here with some inspiration using the new Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes Collection. This is such a fun collection as you get to use up all of your scraps after foiling. There are so many different designs that work with reverse foiling. I love that these are shapes, but you can also cut your own shapes too!
I have used the circle, rectangle (in a slightly different way!), and square today but there is also an oval. I found that I got great results by heating up the Glimmer Hot Foil System platform twice and also using the hinge method for foiling - by taping down the plates to the foil and cardstock using Best Ever Craft Tape.
As mentioned above, I heated the plate up twice on the platform and then ran it through the Platinum 6 with an added shim. It is always like magic when you remove the foil from the cardstock to reveal the beautiful foil underneath! The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base with a tape runner.
I took the middle size die from So Many Butterflies and die cut the panel out. I also die-cut it a further three times, from plain white cardstock, so that I could layer them up for added dimension before adhering them to an A2 white card base.
Using a guillotine, I cut the image out and placed it onto a 4 ½” x 4 ¼” white card base with thin foam tape. I foiled the sentiment from Celebrate You Glimmer Sentiments with the same foil and cut it into strips. They were added to the card with more thin foam tape. To finish off, I added Gold Mix Color Essential Gems.
