Hello there, Michelle Short here to share three projects with you using the new Photosynthesis Collection. This beautiful collection features lots of florals, which I love! Since it also features mainly die cutting, I wanted to show how you can enhance die cuts by adding ink blending. This really adds interest and dimension to clean and simple cards!
My first card uses Floral Stems Etched Dies. I cut the cone flower top petal layer from Snowdrift cardstock and the bottom ones from Purple Mist. I then cut the flower centers from Chamomile and the stems and leaves from Peridot.
Using Blending Brushes, I blended on Distress Oxide Inks, focusing the color on one side of the die cuts, to help create depth. They were then assembled and adhered with Bearly Art Glue. I took two Essential Diamonds and die-cut them to create a frame from white cardstock. The frame was adhered to an A2 white card base and then the stems and leaves adhered on top.
The flower heads were adhered on top with thin foam tape. I foiled the Must-Have Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set onto white cardstock using Black Foil. The sentiments were then die-cut using the coordinating die. For this card, I used ‘just a note’. The card was embellished with Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems.
SENDING HUGS TAG
For my second project, I wanted to create a tag that I could add to a present or bunch of flowers. I die cut the lilies from Floral Stems Etched Dies using Snowdrift cardstock. I cut the centres from Chamomile and the leaves and stems from Peridot. I then added ink blending to these, the same as the first card. I colored the stamens using a Copic Marker. The flowers were assembled and adhered using Bearly Art Glue. I die-cut a vase from Ceramic Vases using Onyx Cardstock. I then ran it back through the Platinum 6 to emboss the detail layer on top. It was adhered to a tag cut from white cardstock and the stems and leaves popped behind. The flowers were adhered using thin foam tape. I took the sentiment from the Must-Have Sentiments set that I foiled before and layered it up two die cuts high. It was adhered to the tag with Bearly Art Glue. To finish, I threaded Black Cord through the top of the tag and tied in a bow.
